Bandão is a percussion orchestra directed by maestros Francesco Petreni and Lorenzo Catacchini.

Although its roots are centered on the rhythms of Brazilian, Cuban, and African music, its repertoire offers original rhythms and draws on sounds typical of Italian musical traditions fused with characteristic rhythms of distant countries and worlds. The result is an unprecedented contamination of different styles and sounds that alternate and blend into music unique in its genre. A distinctive feature of many of the pieces is polyrhythm, that is, the simultaneous execution of multiple overlapping rhythms performed at the same time.
