Bandão is a percussion orchestra directed by masters Francesco Petreni and Lorenzo Catacchini.

Although rooted in the rhythms of Brazilian, Cuban, and African music, its repertoire offers original rhythms and draws on sounds typical of Italian musical traditions blended with characteristic rhythms from distant countries and worlds. The result is a unique contamination of different styles and sounds that alternate and blend in music unique in its genre. A distinctive feature of many of the pieces is polyrhythm, that is, the simultaneous performance of multiple overlapping rhythms executed at the same time.
