The Jubilation Gospel Choir brings on stage a song of African-American origin that developed in America in the 19th century but has been widespread and part of our culture for many years. An engaging performance that invites the audience to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the concert with songs that evoke the deep roots of Gospel music.

This is a choir made up of about twenty members who have been performing throughout the national territory for over 25 years: whether it’s squares, theaters, or churches, the key word, as their name suggests, is definitely “Joy”.

The power and strength of music that has always united people of any ethnicity and country is fully reflected in their repertoire that ranges from blues, to pop, to funky and even rock.

Different musical styles but always carrying a message of joy, faith, love, and hope within them. The audience will not only be spectators but also an integral part of the show.

The desire to have fun and to entertain is strongly perceived in the Jubilation choir when witnessing one of their engaging performances. It is impossible to sit still without dancing and without being carried away by their compelling rhythms. Just as it is impossible not to shed at least a tear of poignant emotion, letting oneself be carried away by the voices of excellent soloists and the unstoppable rhythm of Gospel music.

Who are we

Artistically born in March 1998 from an idea of Luca Del Tongo, who still holds the role of artistic and musical director, the Jubilation Gospel Choir is the first Gospel group founded in Livorno and active for over 25 years.

More than twenty-five years ago, Luca sketched the first outline of his creation, the Jubilation Gospel Choir, giving it a more and more professional shape over time, to obtain a homogeneous group rich in splendid voices, so much so that it is considered one of the most appreciated Gospel groups in Italy. The choir indeed boasts an impressive and enviable curriculum!

In over 25 years of activity, the choir has taken part in numerous events throughout Italy often alongside important international and non-international artists, increasing each time the number of consents and appreciations.

In addition to being called to enliven the Ferrari Christmas with a concert held within the Maranello circuit in the presence of Luca Cordero di Montezemolo and the Ferrari drivers, the group performed at the Arena di Verona alongside Gianna Nannini on the occasion of Wind Music Award 2015, live on RAI 1.

Important awards, prestigious collaborations, but not only: the choir was also hired to record some television commercials, including the Citterio products campaign and the popular Maina panettone TV commercial.

The group was invited to participate four times in the prestigious and coveted Gospel Festival in Milan, broadcast on SKY and Rete 4, and presented by Claudia Koll, Iva Zanicchi, Milly Carlucci, Luisa Corna.

Winner of the “Gospel JF Award”, a prize awarded in Turin in 2009 for professionalism and results achieved, the Jubilation Gospel Choir has two CDs (“So Amazing” and “Good to me”) and some compilations, including the album “Mille voci per Betlemme” which distributed 50,000 copies in newsstands throughout Italy, and the single “Ci ritroveremo” performed with Riccardo Fogli, Don Backy, Homo Sapiens.

The association Jubilation GC, under the artistic direction of Luca Del Tongo, has conceived and organized the Livorno Gospel Festival since 2004, a showcase of international Gospel groups that has received growing interest every year, making it one of the most anticipated and important Gospel events in Tuscany.
