The City Band of Livorno, refounded in 1977 by the Municipality of Livorno, Province and Music Institute “P. Mascagni” – still members of the band – in the tradition linked to the ancient “Banda Cittadina Livornese” is an Association born with the intention of promoting and disseminating music on a popular level.

Although currently without its own headquarters – hosted by the Province of Livorno at Villa del Presidente (formerly Mascagni, in via Marradi) – and without adequate funding to support expenses for its subsistence, the City Band of Livorno has about 40 members under the direction of Maestro Alessandra Luisini.

In addition to the main activity, mainly related to the preparation of the repertoire to be performed at various city events, it has activated various workshops and is starting to promote a band training school with courses in instrumental practice and music theory.
