Teatro dei Venti – Moby Dick
Moby Dick by Herman Melville is a novel that, if not everyone has read, they have certainly heard of. The complexity of the novel also brings to light the contradictions of human nature, revealing weaknesses and obsessions, and addressing topics that are more relevant today than ever: man facing his (metaphorical and real) abysses, the relationship and conflict with Nature and, if we may, the nature of things, up to the inexhaustible will to survive. “Moby Dick” by the Theater of the Winds has the great power to delve into these themes and transform them into images of enormous power, not only through its symbolic and evocative staging, which is almost epic, but also through the participation of local communities and realities involved in workshops specially organized by the company in the days leading up to the premiere.
The Theater of the Winds is a theater company from Modena active since 2005 in creating shows and carrying out projects that combine creativity and the local community. Since 2012, they have been organizing the Trasparenze Festival and Residencies, with the aim of giving voice to contemporary creativity, independent theatrical languages, and the enhancement of new spaces. In 2022, they curated the inaugural event of Procida Capital of Culture 2022.
